Bereaved son Henslowe Fisk (Jeremy Northam) reluctantly makes dutiful weekly visits to his distant father Horatio (Peter O’Toole) who has withdrawn from the world following the loss of his wife, youngest son and still-missed childhood dog. Fate offers a distraction in the form of a public talk about reincarnation at which they encounter the new clergyman, the slightly eccentric Dean Spanley (Sam Neill).

The Dean is later found enjoying a private bottle of Imperial Tokay at Fisk Senior’s club and at a third coincidental meeting later that day an intrigued Fisk Junior introduces himself properly. Indicating that he has a rare bottle of Tokay he invites the Dean for dinner where he discovers that the drink has a very particular and peculiar effect on his guest, with strange reminiscences of what seems to be a previous life as a much-loved pet dog, cruelly separated from its master.

Film will be subtitled and pizza will be available to buy, or you can bring a picnic. There will also be a tiny raffle for a small prize (for people and pooches).
