Director Brian Hill introduces his documentary musical set in Dharavi, Mumbai, the biggest slum in Asia.
The film combines observational footage of the children’s daily lives, with songs reflecting their hopes and dreams. This is the very first Bollywood style documentary musical. But this is not a depressing examination of extreme poverty, it’s an uplifting celebration of human spirit and endeavour. The kids in this film have very tough lives, but hope that education will lead them out of poverty.
The screening is followed by a Q&A session with the Director.
