South Norwood & Thornton Heath Free Film Festival returns for second year

The South Norwood and Thornton Heath Free Film Festival is set to return for its second year in October.

The first planning meeting for this year’s festival will take place at Stanley Halls, 2 South Norwood Hill, South Norwood, London SE25 6AB on Tuesday 24th March at 7.30pm.

Last year’s festival was a huge success with over 300 people coming to see a film for free during the festival week in venues across South Norwood and Thornton Heath. From a night of musical entertainment to short films and Pulp Fiction in a pub, singalong Dirty Dancing in the tennis club and a night of Halloween Horror in Stanley Halls, the film festival was a community event like no other in the area.

Riding on the back of last year’s success planning is beginning for this year’s festival and we need your help.

Have you ever wanted to run your own film night? Always had a desire to show your favourite musical or comedy on the big screen? Do you have a passion for a classic that you’d like to share? Are you a local filmmaker who would like to combine with other film makers to show your films to a wider audience?

Maybe you run a venue in the area that you would be willing to offer as a makeshift cinema for a night or two? Whatever your interest in film, whatever ideas you may have we would love to hear from you.

For more information come along to the planning meeting or contact the team at [email protected]
